What WeHR leave does
Leave types and policies
Earned, casual, sick, comp-off or your own types, each with yearly or monthly accrual, carry-forward limits, lapse and whether it can be encashed.
Choose who enters leave
HR records leave, employees apply and the manager approves, or manager then HR — by company, department or person.
Half days and sandwich rules
Half-day leave, and weekly offs or holidays between leave days counted as leave where your policy says so.
Holidays
National holidays added for you each year; add festival and state holidays for your branches.
Balances everyone can see
Employees see their balances in My space or on WhatsApp; HR sees everyone’s, with opening balances imported from your old system.
Linked to attendance and payroll
Approved leave shows in the muster, unpaid leave becomes loss of pay, and encashable balance is used in full & final.
Questions
Can employees apply for leave on WhatsApp?
Yes, if your company switches on the WhatsApp assistant: employees can check balances, apply for or cancel leave, and managers can approve — without installing an app.
Can we bring opening leave balances from Excel?
Yes. Import opening balances per employee and leave type when you start on WeHR.
What is a sandwich leave rule?
A sandwich rule counts weekly offs or holidays that fall between two leave days as leave too. In WeHR it is a policy setting, so you can turn it on or off per leave type.
