How it’s calculated
- Formula
- Last drawn monthly wages × 15 ÷ 26 × years of service. A part year of more than 6 months counts as a full year.
- Eligibility
- Five years of continuous service for regular employees, one year for fixed-term employees. No minimum on death or disablement.
- Ceiling
- The amount is capped at the statutory ceiling.
- Wages
- Basic + DA (+ retaining allowance). Under the Labour Codes, allowances above half of total pay are added back, which often increases gratuity.
